UK Space Conference 2019 Climate Change Initiative

Dr Darren Ghent of NCEO will be deivering a keynote talk for a session entitled 'Protecting the planet: expolting data from space for local to global policy’ at the UK Space Conference on 26 September, 2019 at the International Convention Centre, Wales.

Dr Ghent will showcase the achievements of the ESA Climate Change Initiative, highlighting the contributions made by participating UK academic and commercial researchers.

Accompanying Dr Ghent, Eleanor Webster, of the UK Government Department for Business Energy and Industrial Strategy will provide insight into the data needs of 21st century climate policy makers. This will be followed by a showcase of new innovative project proposals for climate policy services from Space4Climate – a body representing UK expertise delivering, sustaining and making use of trusted climate information from space.

The audience will be invited to participate and vote for their favourite proposal, with the winner receiving a 6-month ‘Accelerator’ support package to shift from idea to realisation via Space4Climate.
